Since this camera was static in one place except for the camera shake, let’s choose No Motion. Smooth Motion is a setting designed for when the camera is actually in motion, for example, a camera that’s on a dolly shot. Under Stabilization let’s start in the Result area and click on the drop-down menu. Let’s press the Spacebar to stop playback and look at some of the settings in the Effect. I don't know about you but I think that's a pretty drastic difference.
Once the analysis is complete all you have to do is press the Spacebar again to preview the stabilized shot.
If I want to see a status update as to the progress, I can just go to the top of the Effect Controls panel under Warp Stabilizer VFX and you will not only get a status but you will also get a rough estimate as to how much time is left for the analysis. What's nice is the fact that it's analyzing this in the background which means I can go to any other composition in my After Effects project and continue to work as this analysis occurs in the background. Once applied the effect immediately starts analyzing the clip.
Go up to the Animation menu and choose Warp Stabilizer VFX to apply the effect. So, I will press the Spacebar to stop playback and then press the Home key on my keyboard to make sure the Current Time Indicator is on Frame 0:00:00:00. And sure enough this footage is very shaky. To preview our clip, I will click once in the Timeline and then press the Spacebar to begin playback. The Warp Stabilizer VFX tool in After Effects happens to be one of the best when you have that shot but it's just got a little too much camera shake. AVC-Intra, although very few apps are compatible with this yet) is much better. We all know that production can sometimes be a challenge, so it's nice to know there are tools that can help you out when things don’t go quite as planned. For editing, either uncompressed or a compressed format which uses intraframe compression (eg.
AVC (as it's used on BD, anyway) and VC-1 are primariliy presentation formats. I imagine other things may as well, even though I'd still recommend first converting the footage into a format better suited to editing. TMPGEnc accepted the footage with no issues after that. The solution I did find was to first demux the m2ts and get a *.vc1 file, then use this application: TMPGEnc 4.0 takes AVC m2ts Blu-Ray files no problem, and converts them into anything but not VC-1. Even though VC-1 is technically a type of WMV, most things just won't read it properly the way it's stored on Blu-Ray. I do have the 5-disc Blade Runner, though, and did try taking a few minutes of VC-1 footage a while back as I was curious about the compatibility of VC-1. of course you need a ton of hard drive space for that WALL-E jumped from 22GB to over 800GB. For WALL-E, I used TMPGEnc 4.0 Express to convert the m2ts to uncompressed AVI before I did any editing. Even for AVC, thoughg, I like converting into uncompressed first. and as you've found out VC-1 can't be done at all without processing the file in some way first. I did this video, for example, after using AnyDVD to rip the blu-ray of WALL-E:Įditing AVC or VC-1 directly is a pain, though. I've played around with a bit of Blu-Ray footage in editors like PPro and Vegas, and a bit with After Effects as well. Please can you help me figgure this out, I'm pretty sure there's some incompatibility between the m2ts files that Anydvd creates and Adobe software. I'm actually in some trouble here as I've just upgraded to XP64, on which dvdfab will not run, it can't acces Blu-ray discs as there is no compatible UDF reader for XP64 explorer, so I think I need to use Anydvd to do my ripping.I desperatly need to ripp Bl-ray titles to use as source footage for my compositions in AFX, if I can't do this using anydvd then I'm pretty screwed and will have to re-install XP32, which is useless for HD video composition work. The same m2ts files play perfectly in Powerdvd, but not in After Effects, Ironically I just found the oposite was true of dvdfab, the m2ts files it creates do play in After Effects but don't play in Power dvd.ĭoes anyone have any idea why this might be, have anydvd m2ts files been tested in AFX buy you guys? What can I do?
I have ripped a Blu-ray title using Anydvd HD to my hard drive, but Adobe After effects couldn't open it, I then split the main movie file using tsMuxer but still even with the smaller m2ts files After Effects couldn't play them. Hi, I'm part way through testing a few possible solutions to this problem but it looks like I need help.
